Cristina Ramirez-Aubone, PsyD

Dr. Cristina Ramirez-Aubone is a licensed bilingual (English & Spanish) clinical neuropsychologist. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2015 from Albizu University in Miami, FL; this is an APA accredited program. She completed her internship in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital.  This was a full-year rotation in neuropsychology in acute inpatient neuropsychological services for neurosurgical intensive care, neurology, and intermediate head injury units. A significant amount of experience focused on inpatient neuropsychological services for an array of neurological diagnoses on the inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation unit in the Jackson Health System’s Ryder Trauma Center, and outpatient neuropsychological services.

In 2017, Dr. Ramirez-Aubone completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology in the Department of Neurology at Augusta University’s Medical College of Georgia, which is an APPCN-affiliated program. As a fellow, she routinely evaluated patients from early adulthood to late life with a variety of neurological conditions (neurodegenerative disorders, stroke, TBI, tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, somatoform and mood disorders among others).  Additionally, she participated in Wada testing in children, adolescents, and adults, intraoperative electrocortical stimulation mapping, and functional (language & sensorimotor) MRI. 

Her scholarly work includes research projects related to traumatic brain injury in adults and a book chapter on intrinsic brain tumors. As a result, Dr. Ramirez-Aubone has a special interest in traumatic brain injury and its consequences observed in multicultural settings. Teaching experience includes supervision of predoctoral students in all aspects of neuropsychological assessment, how to be effective collaborative members of a multi-disciplinary treatment team by creating a learning environment for students to sharpen their knowledge and/or learn neuropsychological assessment skills, provided education regarding neuroanatomy and neurological syndromes, and aided students in refining their case conceptualizations and improve their clinical skills. 

At Georgia Psychological Dr. Ramirez-Aubone performs bilingual adult psychological assessments. The evaluations include services related to psychological functioning, parental fitness, domestic violence risk assessment, and substance abuse assessment.
